Well done to our A Team who showed a great team spirit with a victory over local rivals Lifford AFC to make it 3 wins from 3 in their league cup campaign. Finding ourselves 1-0 down and a man down at half time in extremely difficult weather conditions, we produced a great second half display to claim top spot in our league cup group . Next Up is our opening League Game Vs Fairgreen Celtic next Saturday.
🏆CSSL Under 15 Boys Division 1 Cup 1/4 Final
Avenue United (2) 🆚 Shannon Town (3)
🏟️Roslevan
⌚️Kickoff 11am
⚽️S.O’Neill
⚽️N. O’Reilly
An entertaining Cup game was played in Roslevan this morning . It was the visitors who had the better start and took the lead at half time . Our Boys started the second half much better and were rewarded with an equaliser . However , Shannon Town took the lead one again when a long range free kick sailed all the way into the net . To our boys credit they managed to equalise again , great cross into the box and a good finish . With extra time looming , the visitors were awarded another free kick with less than a minute on the clock and unfortunately we failed to deal with the cross into the box on a couple of occasions . Disappointing way to lose a game but hard lessons learnt nonetheless from a group that is in transition .
Best of luck to Shannon Town in the next round and for the remainder of the season .
