Well done to our A Team who made the long trip to West Cork today and put in a dominant performance .

We got off to a great start by scoring within 8 minutes of the kickoff , a great cross to the back post from Stephen McGann found the head of Ronan Kerin who headed back across the goal and Elias Kunz was there to tap into the open net . We continued to create numerous chances for the rest of the first half but unfortunately could not convert to get the second goal . 0-1 it stood at Half Time .
We created a couple of chances at the start of the second half , Mossy Hehir unlucky not to score as his header went just wide from a great cross from Jamie Roche . The hosts had a chance from a set piece in the 56th minute but the resulting header did not trouble our goal . In the 62nd minute , great run from Mark Roche out wide , went 1v1 with the opposition defender , got into the opposition box and was pushed to the ground . The Referee pointed to the spot . Up Stepped Stephen McGann to Cooly slot home the penalty . 0-2 to the Avenue was the chant from the sideline from the travelling supporters 🎶

Two minutes later (in the 64th minute ) , o-2 became 0-3, super play from Nna to win the ball back high up in the opponents half , he played the ball to McGann ,who showed a sublime piece of footwork and he finished past the GK . In the 67th minute Togher were awarded a penalty of their own when the referee saw a high foot challenge in our box . The penalty was dispatched brilliantly.
With just over 5 minutes to go , a good ball through from Jamie found Elias on the run , he was able to pull the ball back to Witness who showed some good footwork and composure to set up Mark Roche who stuck it into the bottom corner. 2 minutes later , Philip Talty got himself on the scoresheet . Great work from Stephen Jordan to pass to Mikey Dinan , Mikey then found Talty on the edge of the box and Talty slotted past the GK into the bottom corner . Togher got their second goal from a fantastic strike from the edge of our box . The game finished 2-5 to the Avenue 🎶

Well done to all Players and Coaches and Thank you to all the supporters who made the trip to today‘s game . Thanks to Togher Celtic for their hospitality after the game also .

We Now march on to a Munster Junior Cup 1/2 Final clash with St. Michael’s from Tipperary .
