Our Boys made the trip to Kilmihil this morning to take on a determined and resilient side and what a cracker of a cup tie it turned out to be. Our boys started well and took the lead through some good combination play from our midfielders and a great finish from centre forward Colin Frawley . Our Boys continued to create chances but could not find the second goal . The opposition looked dangerous with the direct ball forward . 1-0 Half Time .

Within 15 minutes of the second half we found ourselves 3-1 down playing against the breeze and we had a penalty saved from their Goalkeeper .

Credit to our Boys who never gave up and continued to try and play the right way . We pulled it back to 3-2 with just about 10 mins to go with a great run and finish from Krystian Rog and equalised in the final minute with a goal from Oliver Hawes , 3-3 heading into Extra Time . The game remained level after extra time thanks to some excellent Goalkeeping from the opposition GK, so it was the dreaded penalty shootout to decide who would advance to the Quarter Final of the Cup . Thankfully it was the Avenue boys who came out on top to win the shootout , 2 brilliant saves from our GK Oisin and a top quality penalty from Paddy to send us into the next round of the cup .

Thanks to Match Official Seán Kenneally for allowing the game be played in a fair manner . Finally Thanks to St Pats for hosting the game , despite the wet weather the past couple of days , the pitch was in great condition .
